I'm finally getting to personal stuff now that things are starting to slow down. I did some quick shots of my nephew back in early November while visting at my mom's house. I know I'm baised, but he has got to be the cutest little thing.. My favorite from the session:
My name is Angela and I'm the artist behind the images of Angela Smith Photography. I'm a wife, mother of two young children, and lover of all things photography.
I am located in Sherwood, Oregon and service the greater Portland Metro area. While I enjoy photographing subjects of all kinds, I have found that my passion lies in capturing life's most treasured moments - the miracle of a newborn, the confidence of a high school senior, a young couple in love, and a bride's tears of joy on her wedding day.
I want to thank you for visiting my blog. Please kick your feet up, grab a cup of coffee, and share my passion with me!

More winter storm - Monday's pictures
My poor husband had to go to work on Monday. Well, he had to go every day, but Monday was especially difficult because he had to dig his car out from the weekend snowfall. Here are some images from Monday... And a note to add that we are finally starting to show signs of melting!

Winter storm!
Wow, this weather is something else. And what amazes me most is the difference from Portland to Salem. South of Salem had NO snow and we have at least 7 inches with a very cool inch thick layer of ice on top of that.
This one I love - it shows where the cars have driven in the streets and made a very cool mosaiac of snow & broken ice.

{3/52} - The Princess, Spiderman and Me!
Today, I finally made time to bake cookies with my kids. I have been promising for a week or so now. They both love to help me in the kitchen. How lucky am I?
And a few more from our day...

{My Daughter - My Dress}
52 week project with my kids!
I've been asked to join a flickr group where the idea is to take a photograph a week for one year of yourself and your children. If you followed my blog earlier in the year, you know I attempted a self portrait a day and fell off the wagon at day eighty-something. As daunting as it was to take a picture a day, I do believe I can keep up with one a week, especially when I get to involve my children. I started the project the first week in December, so I will be doing my third photograph this week.
The first one is the image for our Christmas card. I know I just posted it, but here it is again:

{Yes, power outage. Our second one already this year}.

Two year old {J}
Here is a session I did a few weeks ago while visiting my husband's home town. I adored working with {J} and his mom, and I must admit, {J} really made me work for it!
1 year old {E}
See, I *have* been busy! Are you on blog overload yet? Here are a couple from my session with {E}. He is such a doll!
My family pictures..
I have to say, after photographing so many families over the past couple months, I was less than thrilled to wrangle my own little ones for an attempt at ours.. I say "attempt" because I have never been able to get a decent picture of all four of us.. Toddlers & self timers don't really go together. Imagine how pleased I was when we got the shot in one take (see, bribes DO work):
My husband thought up this creative pose:
And the image I really wanted to get (turned out almost as I had envisioned it):
And our holiday cards this year:

Baby {A} - I'm getting caught up...
I had the pleasure of photographing baby {A} again last weekend - I first met him when he was just a tiny newborn.. he was not so thrilled the first time, however was an absolute doll the second time around. I love it when the little ones are all smiles! Some favs from my session (and are you not totally in love with his hair?!):

Where to start?
So, once again, I'm totally behind on blogging due to the number of sessions I've been photographing. I think it's *finally* starting to slow down, and I definitely welcome the break. That being said, I am truly grateful and feel very blessed to get to be home with my children and to be paid to do something I love.
Here's what I've been up to...
